A Legacy of Gospel Music

Sabbath Quartet founder Nathan Norman Widener brings a rich history in Gospel music to the group. Over the years, Widener has been associated with Naomi & The Segos and The Dixie Melody Boys, and later formed Silent Power with legendary Cathedrals tenor Danny Funderburk. He also sang with Galilee, a trio formed with his two brothers.

Songwriting has remained an important part of Widener's musical journey. Galilee recorded his original material, and his songs went on to be recorded by other artists, producing numerous Top 40 chart songs. Among them was “Heavenly Sonrise,” recorded by The Hoppers, which reached the #1 position.

That musical history continues today through Sabbath Quartet. Rather than being defined by a single genre, Sabbath Quartet strives to minister in its own unique style. They Feature their Original Compositions drawing from their Roots while embracing todays Modern Worship.  Widener's writing can simply be clasified as Hymns, Psalms, & Spiritual songs. Setting a wonderful balance for a truly inspiring worship experiece in song & testimony. They are all songs with a message that points people to Jesus.
